Several month ago, Laban offered to spend a little bit of time helping out with testing of Khalidine. "Great," I said, or somethiing very like that. "Welcome aboard!" If I only knew what I was letting myself in for...
Within a few weeks, Laban had gone from doing some testing to developing detailed test plans and making sure that they got executed. He was named "QA Lead" - because he was already filling that role whether he held the title or not. Since then, Laban has helped in innumerable other ways. He has built high-quality areas, developed excellent static quest story lines, made an army of unique NPCs, offered a metric ton of great ideas and suggestions, worked up a fantastic new logo (which you'll be seeing soon) and often helps me to keep sight of the day-to-day stuff that can easily be forgotten. Most recently, he's realized that scripting might be a fun thing to do, and has been learning the ropes there -- while still remaining available in other ways. I'm sure there are a dozen other things I'm not remembering. In short, he can usually be found wherever he's needed most, and doing an outstanding job at whatever that might be. Thanks for the time and energy, Laban. Khalidine is a far better place for your effforts than she otherwise could have been. (1) Discuss |
